Begin: The Journey of Learning English

Welcome to my very first blog post, a space I’ve affectionately dubbed "Begin". The name isn’t just a nod to this being a beginning, but also a reflection of my own start on a challenging and rewarding journey: learning English.

As a native Brazilian, I grew up immersed in the rich tapestry of Portuguese, a language that dances with a rhythm of its own. Embarking on the English learning path, I quickly realized that this new language has its own tempo, one that was unfamiliar to my ears and tongue.

Why write a blog in English, you might wonder? It’s simple: immersion. They say to learn a new language, you must think in that language. And what better way to foster this mindset than by sharing my experiences, my struggles, and my triumphs with others who might be on the same path?

The hurdles are real. English, with its irregular verbs, intricate phrasing, and an arsenal of accents, can be daunting. For someone born and raised in Brazil, where the sounds are as warm as the sun and as soft as the sand, the sharp turns and twists of English can sometimes feel like navigating a maze.

But it’s not just the mechanics of the language that present a challenge; it’s the cultural nuances that come with it. Every language is a gateway to understanding a new way of life, and English is no exception. Through this blog, I aim not only to enhance my language skills but also to bridge the gap between cultures, to understand and to be understood.
